100 Likes on the JabunAudio Facebook, Mastering, Better Than The Book featured on Oddlythink'n, lots and lots of World Beyond recording, + some scheduled downtime soon!
It's been a super busy week here at JabunAudio! The weekend kicked off with mastering a heck of a fun and hard hitting electro house track which I'll hopefully be able to share with you once it's released, then it's been an intense rest of the week recording bass for World Beyond's upcoming album which I must say is sounding kickass as ever! More recording (bass and guitar) left to do, so I shan't spend too long talking today, but on top of the the 2 things above, there's 3 main piece of news to share this week! Let's get started!
Firstly I'd like to say a huge thanks to everyone who's supported JabunAudio throughout the years, and I'm super happy to announce that this week we finally reached 100 likes on the JabunAudio Facebook Page! Fun times, and I hope to bring you more and more music in the years to come. It's always great to hear that people are listening.
Next this week, another cool achievement as Better Than The Book's Two Years On album was featured on the Oddlythink'n music YouTube Channel! Thanks so much to Brandon for letting BTTB play amongst the great artist you share, and feel free to check out Two Years On on Oddlythink'n below.
Finally this week, just a quick announcement, JabunAudio will be closed for a week from August 24th (opening again on September 1st) as I'll be on holiday climbing Mount Snowdon in Wales. Should be fun, should be achy, and should be a nice break! With that, I'll not be taking any commissions during the final week of August or be able to reply to any messages, send files etc..., so if you need anything I'll be back to reply to messages etc... at the beginning of September. Also there will be no blog on the 31st, though I do intend to do one more before I go. Thanks for your patience, and see you then!
And that about wraps things up for this week at JabunAudio! I'll be getting straight back to recording for the new World Beyond album this afternoon, so I'm sure it'll be a busy week until my holiday, but I like it like that, and I'm sure there'll be many other things to report next week too. Hope you have a great week, see you in the next blog post and thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and my projects. Take care!
Some more website updates, more Jabun featured on Melody Chillout Music and Premium Music HQ, 808 Day, recording for World Beyond's new album + more!
It's been a busy and exciting week at JabunAudio and as usual there's much to share! Along with the main features for this week, I had some time to work on more of the new Better Than The Book album which although going slower than last month is progressing nonetheless. I've finished up 3 lyrics sheets now, with another few well on their way, so it shouldn't be too long until I start the recording process for at least some of these tracks! Exciting times! Lots more to talk about this week so without further wait, let's get straight to the main news!
Firstly, following on from last week's web design adventures, I've done a little more work on the JabunAudio website since the last blog post. I've now added an updated "About" section to the navigation bar above, as well as a revamped version of the old "Partners" page, though since the navigation bar takes up more space than on the old website, I'd decided not to put the Partners page directly on there. Instead there are links to it at the end of the About and Contact pages above. With those 2 pages added, it's just the main services, portfolio and an updated home page left, though I imagine these will take a fair while to set up properly. I also want to add some headers to each page at some point to increase the visual appeal. I'll keep you updated as things progress.
Next this week, some more celebrations as "Palindrome" and "Home" from my debut album as Jabun - Daydream were featured on Melody Chillout Music and Premium Music HQ's Facebook and YouTube Channels respectively. Thanks again to both places for helping share my music to more listeners, and if you've yet to hear them, feel free to check out Palindrome, Home and the rest of the Daydream album below. Hope you enjoy it!
And speaking of the Daydream album (sort of), on Tuesday this week, it was 808 Day (August 8th), celebrating the Roland TR-808 drum machine, a musical tool which changed music in so many ways since its invention, and my favourite drum machine sound pallet of all time. Linking back to the previous topic, all the main drums on the Daydream album were generated using a software emulation of this magnificent and now very hard to find drum machine, and I'm sure you'll be hard pressed to find a producer who wouldn't want a real TR-808 in their gear arsenal if they haven't already. Well... this year has been an especially exciting 808 day as Roland just announced a compact and faithful digitally modeled re-issue of this classic analog machine with the same sound of the old, but with the modern convenience of the new (like MIDI for one), the TR-08. It's not often I get THIS excited over a new synth or drum machine release but this is something I've been waiting for for a LONG time, and this drum machine has been so important to me as a producer and musician throughout the years! On top of that exciting news though, Roland is also releasing a new sampler and a similar re-issue of their classic SH-101 synth which looks awesome! Exciting times and I can't wait for them to arrive in music shops for me to have play with!
Finally, and despite the previous exciting news probably the most exciting, this week I had the pleasure of recording guitar and bass again for the upcoming World Beyond album with my good friend Vladimir Kuznetsov! It feels like a long while since I've recorded with him and as always it's been a great time. No details I can say yet about the album itself or a release date, but I'm pretty sure it'll be out by the end of the year and holy heck I'm looking forward to it! If you haven't heard his stuff before, be sure to check out last years "Mindshell" album (I'm playing guitar on "The Rescue"). Here's a little teaser picture he gave me to share. Get ready for some more amazing music from WB soon!
And that about wraps things up for this week! Not entirely sure what next week has in store, but there's the possibility of more guitar recording for the new WB album, more BTTB writing, more website revamping, and some other things in the pipeline. All in all it doesn't look like there'll be time to be bored which is always good! Until then, I hope you all have a great week, thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and the rest of my projects, and see you next time! Take care!
New Better Than The Book, Jabun & Nick Standing websites, JabunAudio's website is getting an overhaul, new logo, Jabun featured on Melody Chillout Music & Premium Music HQ, + more!
It's been a very busy week here at JabunAudio and apologies again for the lack of blog post last week (hope this one makes up for it!). As you may have already noticed, the JabunAudio site is looking a bit different to usual, but we'll get into that a little later! This week's been all about making websites (and a little bit of Better Than The Book and other audio work on the side), so let's get straight into the first bit of news: New websites!
So after 5 years releasing music as Jabun and Better Than The Book, this week I finally got around to making an official artist website for each project! They've got everything you'd expect from an artist website: a home page with a newsletter sign-up box and the latest news, discography with streaming embeds and release dates, videos, a press page with links to interviews features and reviews, an about page with some history for each project and myself, and a contact page with links to where to find each project around the vast internet! I've also created a Nick Standing hub website page for links to all my projects, including BTTB, Jabun and of course JabunAudio, as well as a more in depth look into my musical journey. I hope you enjoy exploring each website and learning more about each project and let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see on them! Click on the buttons below to explore each website:
Back to JabunAudio and the mysterious new look of this blog, after using this website for many years now, I've decided to give it complete overhaul to clean up some of the messier elements of the old site and bring it up to the same standard as the new websites above. Due to the complexity of the site however, and the fact that I need to keep it accessible and live while the edits are being made, I've chosen to close off sections of the site for the time being to keep it easy to navigate while the edits take place. Since there's a lot of content on this site to sort, it may be some time until the work is all complete, but if you're unable to find the information you need in the mean time, feel free to contact me directly and I'll do my best to help. Just to clarify, JabunAudio is still doing audio work while the website is being renovated, so if you're in need of any audio assistance, don't hesitate to give me a buzz. Again, thanks for your patience while this is all being sorted, and hope to have the website complete soon!
One new addition to JabunAudio I'd like to share quickly share however is a brand new logo! Up until now, I've been using my Jabun artist logo as the visual representation of JabunAudio too (which kinda makes sense) but trying to keep a distinction between the two while keeping them linked called for a new logo for my audio production services. As such I'm pleased to present the new JabunAudio logo, a simple variation on the Jabun one, but a distinction nonetheless! Hope you like it!
Finally this week, a little celebration of achievement as "Morning" and "Distance" from my debut album as Jabun - Daydream were featured on Melody Chillout Music's Facebook and YouTube pages! As well as that, "Anxiety" was shared on Premium Music HQ's Facebook and YouTube pages too. It's always nice to have my work showcased and help spread the word, so a huge thanks to Melody Chillout Music and Premium Music HQ for letting my music play amongst their ranks! If you've yet to listen to Morning, Distance, Anxiety or the Daydream album feel free to check them out on the new Jabun Music website or Bandcamp, and I hope you enjoy them!
And that about wraps things up for JabunAudio this week. What in store for the next 7 days? Well I'll be continuing to revamp the JabunAudio website while working on a couple of other little music projects and possibly some more Better Than The Book too. Other than that, we shall have to see where the tide takes us! Anyways, hope you have a great week until next time and thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and my other music projects. See you next week!
Hello again! Not a lot to report this week though it's been a fairly busy one working on some projects I can't quite share yet (Looking forward to). As such this blog post is gonna be REALLY short, so apologies for that and hopefully I'll be able to share more with you soon! Thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and all my projects and hope you have a great time until the next significant update! Take care!
It's been a fairly quiet week since reopening JabunAudio so there's not a lot of news to share on this blog post. The last 7 days have mainly been spent catching up on admin work, sending out messages, and having some pretty cool in depth conversations about certain aspects of music tech and the music industry with some new found fellow music makers, which has been fun. I've temporarily put work on the new BTTB album on hold as progress has been going faster than expected during the 6 week downtime and I have another personal project with a fast approaching deadline to focus on in my free time. Aiming to get back to BTTB by the end of the month though, so not long to wait! Overall a pretty cool week. Anyways, only one thing to share on this blog post so lets get to it!
After 10 weeks since my debut album as Jabun, Daydream came out, we finally come to the final video of the week by week track stream on YouTube. This week it's the last track of the album: Dreaming (Parts IV - VI). Hope you enjoy it and if you've yet to check out the rest of the album feel free to browse through the HurpADervish channel for that and much more music. What's next for YouTube? Well there'll likely be a break from uploading videos for a little while, but I'm sure there'll be more music streaming soon and I'll keep you updated when I do upload some more. Thanks for listening and enjoy the final track of Daydream - Dreaming (Parts IV - VI):
And that about wraps things up for this week! Next week's looking to be similar to this one in that I'll be continuing with admin work and trying to finish up this personal project in my free time, though no doubt something else will pop up to report so we shall see where the tides take us! Until then, thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and my other projects and I hope you all have a great week until the next post! Take care and have fun!
JabunAudio is back in business! Welcome to 'The Loft' studio, updated services and pricing, new mastering demo reel, two more Daydream videos + more!
Hello everyone, and after 6 weeks of unscheduled down time, I'm finally pleased to announce that JabunAudio is open once again and accepting commissions! Hope you've all been well since the last update, and it's great to be writing this long overdue first blog post from the new studio, JabunAudio 3.0: 'The Loft'! Things have been up and running smoothly (ish) since Monday, but it's been a hectic week catching up on paperwork/admin and getting the news out for the reopening, so there's not been much actual audio work this week to report. No updates on the new Better Than The Book album this week either, though I aim to get back to that as soon as I can. Anyway, to start off this post, I'd formally like to welcome you to the new place JabunAudio 3.0: The Loft, and with that, let's get the news rolling! Onwards!
So obviously the big news this week is the re-opening and the new studio, but as well as sharing pictures of the new place, there are many other exciting things to report about it too!
With a much larger footprint than the Bamboo Forest, The Loft has allowed me to reinstall some of my bigger (and more powerful) equipment into the room, as well as bring in more things that there simply wasn't space for in the previous place. The highlights of these are my incredibly versatile homemade 12/6 double neck electric guitar, blissfully saturated valvestate Marshall AVT amplifier and the extensive pedal board that I use with it, and a Yamaha 6 string acoustic! It's been around a year since I've had these major studio players at my side and along with the new Jaguar, my Yamaha Pacifica, and the Sterling Bass, now is the time for some serious electric guitar session work if you need it! All the usual equipment is here too, including a range of hardware synths, software voice banks and drum machines, so if you need anything, I'm sure I'll be able to sort it out for you!
The layout and shape of The Loft is also a welcome improvement on the Bamboo Forest. With a staggered ceiling, great left/right symmetry and an expanded array of acoustic paneling, the acoustics in this room are superb, which coupled with the software corrected frequency response (which was pretty good even before correction) makes this room an ideal environment for audio production and small scale acoustic recording. Ergonomically too, the increased space allows for a less cluttered set-up for many tasks which is always welcome.
Anyway, I'm sure you're eager to see it, so without further wait, I present to you, JabunAudio 3.0: The Loft! (Please excuse my crummy photography skills). I look forward to making many a great record, production and memory in this new place:
As you can see I've kept some of the bamboo theme up too!
Next on this week's news, just a couple of little updates on the admin side of things. To reflect the changing exchange rates since I last set them up, I've temporarily re-evaluated the £GBP prices for my services on the website. I realised also that the downloadable list of services sheet is very much out of date in terms of what services I can provide now as well as the exchange rates for the prices in various currencies, so this is an issue I'll need to address soon. I'm aiming to do a revamp of this website as well as the services sheet soon to clean things up and make things more accurate for the current times. I'll keep you updated on that as and when it happens.
Next, to celebrate the opening of The Loft, I've put together a new demo reel for one of my favorite services to offer, music mastering! It's been a while since I did one of these, so I thought what better time to release a new one than now. The drill's the same as last time: For each pair of clips, the first is the final mix given to me before mastering, and the second is the final master as I delivered. In each of these cases I was also the, composer, recording and mix engineer and producer, so this serves as a demo reel for those services too and by popular demand since the last set of demo reels, each pair of clips has been approximately level matched to more clearly show the differences between the final mix and masters (apart from volume). In reality, the masters works out to usually be a few dB louder than the final mix, though I always aim to make dynamic, clean and punchy masters which will encourage people to turn up the music, rather than turn it down! For anyone interested in me mastering their music, feel free to send me a message via the contact page on this website. I hope you enjoy the new demo reel and I look forward to working with you soon to get you music sounding the way it was meant to be heard!
Finally this week, I just want to share the next two videos from the YouTube weekly stream of my recent electronic/ambient album "Daydream". Next week will be the final track, so be sure to tune in for that and feel free to subscribe to the channel to hear new music as soon as it's released. Hope you enjoy the tracks and looking forward to making some more chill music for you soon!
And that about wraps things up for this week! There's still a lot of admin things to catch up on for next week, but if I can I'd like to do a little more work on the new BTTB album if I have the time. A couple of exciting things are coming up in the pipeline too which I hope to share with you when I can. Until next week, I hope you all have a great time, thanks again for your patience in the 6 weeks of downtime and thank you as always for supporting JabunAudio and my other creative endeavors. See you all next week and take care!
A long time no see, lots of explaining to do, A P O T H E O S I S gameplay trailer, working on the new Better Than The Book album + 5 weeks worth of Jabun Daydream videos to catch up on! Many apologies for my absence!
Hi again everyone, and crazy to think it's been 5 weeks of unplanned downtime since the last update! Apologies for this unexpected situation which I'll explain shortly and hope you've all been well since we last spoke. There's still a fair amount of the usual news to share (and some exciting news it is too!) but first I feel I must explain my absence and the unplanned closure of JabunAudio over the last few weeks. As I always say: Let's get to it!
As mentioned in the previous blog post, JabunAudio relocated to Rotherham just over a month ago and while the move went smoothly, a new studio was set up very nicely, and I've been ready to work for over 2 weeks now, one thing has been a constant problem since the move: the internet connection. I've tried my best to keep you all updated on the situation via weekly Facebook posts on the JabunAudio page, but to expand here, the connection since moving has averaged a download speed of about 0.03Mbps (compared to the 16Mbps I'm using as I type this while visiting my hometown and family). Not only has it been unbearably slow but also intermittent, so much so that I've barely been able to check emails, let alone upload files or even load this website to write the weekly blog post. On top of that the customer service from the internet provided has been incredibly unhelpful and barely improved the connection if at all after multiple attempts at sorting the situation. Finally an engineer is scheduled to visit this coming Tuesday so I really hope it'll be sorted then. JabunAudio's remote audio production services rely on a stable and fast internet connection so if things aren't fixed, I might be facing big problems for the future of this little company (let's not think about that though and try to remain positive). I really hope it's all sorted soon.
Anyways though, onto positive news, the new studio has been set up for about 2 weeks now and is working a dream at the moment. I'll save the picture sharing, new demo reel, and explanation of the new features for when JabunAudio opens for business again, but while there has been no internet to distract me or allow me to work on client tasks, I've been putting the space to good use working intensely on a new Better Than The Book album! It's CRAZY how productive things can be when you literally have nothing else to do, so since starting the album only a month or so ago I've now recorded 25 minutes / 7 tracks work of rough demos for the new material! These are at the very least to the point where they're structured and able to strum and hum along to mumbling a few of the lyrics, but some tracks are pretty much fully fledged instrumentals or fully lyrical already! Exciting times! I'm still aiming for 10+ tracks and 30-40 minutes of music in total for this album and at the current rate of progress we may be seeing this album released much earlier than the target of summer 2018! We shall see how things go, but anyways, I hope you're ready for more Ska-punk coming soon, I'm already excited to share it with you!
Next this week and this news is really about a month overdue, but A P O T H E O S I S (which I'm doing the soundtrack for) just released its first gameplay trailer and a new demo! Fantastic stuff and it's so great to see this come together after years working on the soundtrack. Check out the trailer below and grab a free download of the latest demo too here (It's super fun!). Apparently a theatrical trailer will be coming soon too before the official release of the game so keep an eye out for that. Hope you enjoy the video and if you get a chance to play please leave a comment, I'd love to know your thoughts! Have fun!
Next and lastly for this blog post, I've just got 5 weeks worth of videos from the weekly streaming of my debut album as Jabun - Daydream. Thanks so much to everyone for their lovely comments on these tracks and I hope you enjoy each of the new videos shared in this blog post. The lovely visual editing is courtesy of the wonderful Vladimir Kuznetsov of World Beyond, so be sure to send him your love too! Enjoy and stay tuned to my YouTube channel for the next few tracks coming every Thursday. Peace!
That's all the news to share for this week! What's happening next? In honesty, I'm really not sure and it all depends on the outcome of the engineer's visit on Tuesday. I'll aim to keep you all as informed as I can on the situation at the very least via some Facebook posts, but if all goes well, the next blog post (hopefully next week) will be the grand reopening of JabunAudio, introducing the new studio and services and opening the doors again for business! Fingers crossed and we'll have to wait and see. I'll no doubt work a bit more on some BTTB while there's no internet and there's some other cool things in the works at the moment which I'm looking forward to share when I can as well! Anyways, it's been great to finally write another blog post again and I hope you all have a great time until the next one. Thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and all my projects, take care, and hope to be back soon!
Just a very quick update this week as I've mainly just been packing up and preparing for the move this coming weekend, so there's really not much to share and tell. Exciting times though! Also, due to the time it'll take to set up the new studio, there'll be some downtime for a few weeks where I'll be unable to carry out any audio work, but I aim to be up and running again by the start of June. Unfortunately since I can't be certain when the internet will be sorted, I may not be able to do the blog posts or keep up with messages over the next week or so too so apologies for the inconvenience and please bear with me while it all gets sorted. I'll back soon!
Anyways, with all that maintenance and moving stuff out of the way, there is one thing I'd like to share with you this week: the next video in the Jabun - Daydream series: Morning! Again I'd like to extend a big thanks to Vlad from World Beyond for editing the lovely visuals for this and I hope you enjoy the sights and sounds this week and for the next few months as we journey through the album together. You can find Jabun - Daydream on Bandcamp, iTunes and more. Enjoy!
And that's about it for this week and it's the final blog post from this studio (The Bamboo Forest) too! It's been an awesome time in this little studio, with a lot of great memories. Sad to leave it behind, but it was always going to be the way and I look forward to the exciting challenge of setting up the new studio over the next couple of weeks! There may or may not be a blog post next week depending on when the internet is up and running again, but feel free to keep up with the news on the JabunAudio Facebook page if you so wish. With that I'll bid you goodbye for this week and thanks so much as always for supporting JabunAudio and my projects whether you've been there since before the start or a new supporter, it means a lot to me. I'll leave you this week with a snapshot of the Bamboo Forest, and I hope you all have a great time until I'm back in business. Many thanks, take care and speak to you all soon!
^^^ JabunAudio 2.1: "The Bamboo Forest"
Jabun - Daydream now on Newgrounds, some lovely visuals for YouTube, a demo reel to come + JabunAudio is moving next week!
It's been a fairly busy week winding down work as JabunAudio has confirmed and set the moving date for May 20th! Less than 10 days left which means I'll unfortunately have to close commissions while I pack away the studio, and that JabunAudio will be closed for most audio work until the new studio is set up. Hoping to have everything sorted to start up again for the start of June, though I'll keep you all updated with how that goes. Not a whole lot to report this week, and I imagine the next few weeks will be similar, but there's still a little bit to show and tell. Let's get to it!
Firstly (and mainly this week), the beginning of the week was spent finishing off the admin work for the new Jabun album, Daydream, and I'm pleased to announce that the full album is now available for track by track streaming (and reviewing) on Newgrounds! Feel free to explore the playlist here and leave some comments if you wish. Unfortunately, Daydream did not make the cut for Pandora Radio which is a real shame (especially since they gave no reason for the rejection), but after reading more about other people's experiences it seems like they're just REALLY picky on what they add, even rejecting some top charting artists. If anything, while it's quite the disappointment for Jabun, it feels more like a compliment that Better Than The Book actually made it onto their list, so there's that to be thankful for at least! To close the Jabun news for this week, my good friend and co-worker Vladimir Kuznetsov of World Beyond, kindly edited some videos for YouTube with enhanced visuals to accompany each track of the album. These videos will be released weekly on Thursdays on the HurpADervish YouTube Channel with the first arriving today! A huge thank you to Vlad for all his help on these and feel free to explore the World Beyond Blog for his thoughts on the album too. Hope you enjoy the video, and stay tuned weekly for the rest of the album.
And remember that you can find Jabun - Daydream on Bandcamp (with bonuses), iTunes and more if you'd like to pick up a copy. Many thanks!
Next and lastly this week, just a couple of small updates. Between admin work and tying up loose ends before the move, I've again this week been working on a little more Better Than The Book which is going well, though I'm reminded of the anxiety I felt at the beginning of Two Years On's production with that feeling of "S**T, I've gotta somehow outdo the last album/EP?!" Hehehe! After a year and a half break from the project, I think it's going to take a little warming into to get the ska-punk vibes flowing again, but I'm very much looking forward to sharing more music with you all soon! As well as some BTTB, I finally took the time this week to put together a new mastering demo reel too which I'll release once the new studio is set up (instead of releasing it now and having to turn clients away immediately). It was a tough pick curating this demo reel as I've produced and mastered so much music since the last one, so this new 2017 demo reel will feature some track from Two Years On, Daydream and more, demonstrating the subtle but powerful nature of the mastering art. Hope you enjoy it when it's released and if you're in need of any audio mastering, you know where to find me! I'll be aiming to release the new demo reel at the start of June.
And that's about it for this week. As mentioned previously the next few weeks are set to be fairly quiet but busy due to the move, packing up and setting up of the old and new studios respectively, but I'll still be aiming to chime in with the weekly blog post to keep you all updated and at least share the latest video from the Daydream album. Busy times ahead! Anyways, hope you enjoy the new video (and the album if you've yet to hear it), and thank you as always for supporting JabunAudio and the rest of my projects. Hope you have a great week, and take care until the next post!
An awesome week: The debut Jabun album "Daydream" is finally out (Find it on Bandcamp, iTunes and more) + back to the studio with Better Than The Book!
It's been a fantastic week here at JabunAudio as my debut electronic album "Daydream" was released to the world on Thursday! Not only that, but in between all the admin mumbo-jumbo which comes with the release, I've fired up the recording equipment again to start gathering ideas and experiment for a new Better Than The Book album! Lots of cool things to share this week, so let's get started!
Firstly and the biggest news of this week, as I'm sure you all know my debut album as Jabun - Daydream was released to the world on Thursday! It's been a long while in the making and with over 5 years of producing music as Jabun, I'd say it's well overdue too! So far the album's been well received, with some lovely comments online and lots of support. Thanks so much for everyone's help and support over my entire music career as Jabun. It's all lead up to this moment, and I'm sure this'll just be a stepping stone towards even more spectacular things to come!
With regards the album release itself, you can currently find Daydream on Bandcamp (the download of which includes bonus artwork), iTunes (just search for Jabun), as well as stream it on YouTube (Full album only) and SoundCloud! A full track by track playlist should be up on Newgrounds by the end of the weekend + a track by track stream will be uploaded over the next 10 weeks each Thursday on the Jabun and HurpADervish YouTube Channels. On top of that, the album is currently awaiting approval on Pandora and the Dozmia App for streaming too which should hopefully be sorted soon. I'll keep you all updated with progress.
Once again, I'd like to say a huge thanks to everyone's who's supported my music over the last few years and earlier. I'm so happy to finally be able to share these tracks which I've pour my heart into and I hope you enjoy these little glimpses of emotion and the step into my mind for just a day. For the full experience, feel free to read through the credits and album notes on Bandcamp, and without further wait I present to you Daydream.
Next and lastly this week, while I've still got a fair few bits of admin to do for the new album, after 3 weeks away from the studio I was itching to get some more recording done and so this week, I spent my spare time recording and gathering together the ideas to finally start work on a new Better Than The Book album! Crazy to think that Two Years On was released 15 months ago and I've not done any BTTB recording since (apart from capturing ideas on my phone's recording and note taking apps). Well that changed this week and I'm super happy with the current results.
Info on the album so far: I'm planning for another 30-40 minute album with 10+ songs, aiming to release Summer 2018. So far I've gathered the bare ideas for 8/10 of those tracks with a whole lot more I can play with from all the jam sessions over the last 15 months. No idea of a title for the album just yet, although I can reveal that this week I was working on writing songs with working titles: "And I fear", "Meteor Hammer", "Hopes and Dreams", and "GG [Vocal version]"! Hope you're excited to hear more ska punk from me soon and I'm looking forward to recording and sharing these with you in the not too distant (hopefully) future! Get ready!
And that's about it for this week! What's next for Jabun? Well this coming week I aim to get all the main admin stuff finished off for the album, and possibly do some more idea gathering / recording for Better Than Than Book, but it looks like JabunAudio will be moving in 2 week's time, so there's a lot to sort out for that too: tying up loose ends + packing before the move, etc... so it looks like while it may not be an audio heavy few weeks, it'll no doubt be very busy! In any case, I hope you enjoy Daydream, hope you all have a great week, and thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and all my projects. Take care until next blog post and speak to you soon!
